About Chris Palmer
Chris Palmer was born in Derbyshire, an ‘enfant terrible’ of the sixties. She worked in Canada and America then returned to England to join the BBC as a documentary film maker.
After a successful career with the BBC, creating engaging, entertaining and informative television programmes, Chris ‘retired’ to Burgundy France to set up a ‘B & B’ and gallery, which she now manages with her husband, Graham.
She is now a full-time writer and has been writing books for over 10 years.
The arrival of Custard their ‘bearded Collie’ has been a source of many adventures around the beautiful medieval village of Montréal. Chris was inspired to write her first children’s book after she experienced her grandchildren’s delight when listening to her stories of Custard’s brave adventures.
Chris published her first novel in 2021 and the third Custard book was published in 2022 in time for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Custard and Crumble regularly join her when she reads stories in French and English to school children in Burgundy and the UK.
